Horizontal Directional Drilling

Fast, convenient, and cost-effective, Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is a trenchless construction method that uses specialized equipment to bore/drill underground. By creating a tunnel through which the product is pulled back, obstacles can remain undisturbed. HDD has become the preferred method on many installations due to its low cost and minimal surface disturbance.

Agri Industries operates a range of equipment able to complete many Horizontal Directional Drilling application. These top-of-the-line machines employ a drive through ream back system which bores a pilot hole up to 3000’ long with diameters up to *36” using a radio transmitter to track and guide the drill bit to its destination.

Hydro Excavation Services

A preferred alternative to mechanical digging, portable vacuum/excavation systems require less labor to get the same job done and offer a faster, safer, more efficient, and cost-effective method of potholing than other methods.

Vacuum/excavation systems use high-pressure water to locate previously installed utilities, and the vacuum function picks up displaced soil. By locating previously buried utilities, the risk of underground damage is significantly reduced. This smaller method of excavation also causes less surface damage, making subsequent surface repairs faster, easier, and less expensive, resulting in reduced disruption to traffic flow and other surface activities.

Agri Industries uses the RamVac HX-12 and the Vacmaster SPV-800 Spoilvac vacuum excavation system for all pot-holing and directional boring slurry clean-up applications. Using a high-pressure water wand, we can quickly dig small, precisely controlled potholes, locate buried utility pipes and lines, and clean up the slurry in one easy step. The hydrovac can also be used to clean out valve boxes, catch basins, underground vaults, and manways. This system is inherently safer than any mechanical means of potholing available today. With multiple machines available, we can get to your job when you need us.

Plowing & Trenching

Agri Industries uses a combination of equipment to perform our trenching and plowing.

  • The Vermeer V-8550 Rubber Tire Tractor equipped with a Hydrostatic Trencher, Dry Shaker Vibratory Plow, and Backhoe.
  • The Burkeen B-30 Plow
  • The Vermeer T-555 Trencher
  • Komatsu, John Deer, and CAT backhoes & excavators

The Vermeer V-8550 trencher can bury cable to a cover depth of up to 36”. The Vermeer vibratory plow can easily "rip" in buried power cable with minimal disturbance to the ground surface. Able to perform in adverse ground conditions, it provides enough flotation and maneuverability to handle tough installation jobs. The Vermeer backhoe has a digging depth of 108” using 3 different bucket widths.

The Burkeen B-30 plow is perfect for residential and confined area plowing with a cover depth up to 18”. The Vermeer T-555 trencher can handle those big cable jobs. With a trenching capacity of up to 9’ depths and widths up to 24”, it also has the ability to cut through rock using its rock chain attachment.

Emergency Response Services

No matter what your emergency, Agri Industries is available and committed to providing the manpower and equipment necessary to manage the timely restoration of your service with the highest regard toward safety and the environment.

Our response crews possess the expertise and technical knowledge necessary to handle any situation that might arise.

Hydrostatic Testing

Agri Industries conducts Hydrostatic Leak Testing by pressurizing the inside of components with a liquid, such as water, to test for leaks. Used on piping, tanks, valves, or containers with welded or fitted sections, this type of testing can be run as either a burst test or a non-destructive test.

The component is filled completely with a liquid and then pressure is slowly applied to that liquid. Once the required pressure is reached and held for a specific time, we inspect the component visually to locate leaks.

Potholing, Vacuum Excavation & Slurry Cleanup

A preferred alternative to mechanical digging, portable vacuum/excavation systems require less labor to get the same job done and offer a faster, safer, more efficient, and cost-effective method of potholing than other methods.

A vacuum/excavation system uses either high-pressure water or air to locate previously installed utilities, and the vacuum function picks up displaced soil which can later be used as fill or removed from the job site entirely. By locating previously buried utilities, the risk of underground damage is significantly reduced. This smaller method of excavation also causes less surface damage, making subsequent surface repairs faster, easier, and less expensive, resulting in reduced disruption to traffic flow and other surface activities.

Vacuum excavation also provides a desirable complement to many horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations. Vacuum excavation can be required to verify utilities before starting HDD projects or excavating. Vacuum-excavation facilitates preparing the job site in advance of an HDD or trenching crew, thus helping to complete the job in a cost-effective, timely manner.

Agri Industries uses the Vacmaster SPV-800 Spoilvac vacuum excavation system for all pot-holing and directional boring slurry clean-up applications. Using a 2000 psi water injected high pressure wand, we can quickly dig small, precisely controlled potholes, locate buried utility pipes and lines, and clean up the slurry in one easy step. The Spoilvac can also be used to clean out valve boxes, catch basins, underground vaults, and manways. This system is inherently safer than any mechanical means of potholing available today. With multiple machines available, we can get to your job when you need us.
